A Message from Superintendent Culkeen

During the morning of Wednesday, February 8th, the Bennington Police Department received a report of an incident at a Bennington area high school.  This led to an immediate shelter in place at Mt. Anthony Union HIgh School while officers were dispatched to the school. It was quickly determined that this was a false report.

Following a swift response from BPD and our Incident Command Team, the shelter in place was lifted at approximately 9:20am the same day.

The shelter in place allowed us to ensure the safety and well being of our students, faculty, and staff. At this time, we are confident that the Bennington Police Department received a false report and there are no ongoing threats to our school community.

There will be an increased police presence at Mt. Anthony Union High School through the end of the day.

Clinical services will be available to all students. Please reach out to your student’s guidance counselor for resources.
