Multifaceted Assessment

Assessment is being built into curriculum. We review external assessment instruments as we design the curriculum objectives to assure that there is a strong alignment between what is written and what is tested. We expect that the curriculum will be used as the base for planning instruction. Therefore, our student current assessment package includes local, state and national assessment instruments. It is important to note that pieces are being added to address the standards in the Vermont Framework as a part of the curriculum design process. In addition, inservice sessions have been offered for administrators on use of data as they work with building level teams. Course work is currently available and others are under design to help teachers better assess student progress in a variety of ways at the classroom level. To further support their efforts professional collections in each building and the regional media center are being supplemented with recent, relevant information.

 

Now we are listing, by Vermont Framework Standard, by grade level, each of the areas that are assessed by local, state or national tests, as identified by our curriculum writing teams. This information is detailed in our Long Range Plan.
