Throughout the year, we offer a variety of courses free of charge to our staff. This applies toward recertification credit and/or salary increase for teachers. Below you will find links to a list of courses, times, dates and availability.

BEST Practices in Technology Integration

15 hour(s), Using the GLEF Edutopia website as a starting point, participants will examine BEST practices for integrating technology in the classroom. Participants should come prepared with a dilemma regarding using technology or simply an existing lesson which they wish to technologically enhance. Depending on the disciplines involved, online discussions may include using blogs and wikis with students, posting tutorial videos, and using our Schoolcenter webpages. The final project will include an integrated lesson plan. Participants should plan on posting and responding to colleagues at least twice a week during the course. A high speed internet connection is required. Participants should be motivated to participate in an online learning community and be moderately comfortable with navigating and posting on the internet.

15 hour(s), This course will feature an introduction to the new features of Office 2007 including SmartArt graphics and enhanced 3D WordArt. Participants will have a forum to freely ask questions about the new software and how they can find features they are used to as well as additional easy to use features. Class meetings will have ample hands-on opportunities for participants to practice their skills.
