FAQs - School Taxes

Where can I pay my tax bill?

Tax payments cannot be accepted at the School’s Business Office. School and property taxes are billed annually on one statement dictating the amount you owe. Some property owners have their financial institution pay on their behalf. For those that pay their own, make payments to your town’s Tax Collector. How are the education tax rates set?

For tax year 2014 (FY15), the base education tax rate for homestead property is $0.98. It is adjusted by the district spending adjustment, and by the town’s common level of appraisal (CLA).

For tax year 2014 (FY15), the base tax rate for nonresidential property is $1.515. It is adjusted by the town’s common level of appraisal. The nonresidential tax rate is not multiplied by the district spending adjustment.
