FAQ - Meals for Students

The below information is from Superintendent James Culkeen in regards to meals for students during the COVID-19 Pandemic. To view more information, including the drop-off schedule, please view the main Meals for Students page. 
1. Q - Do we need to sign up for meals?
    A – No. Sign-up or registration is not required to receive free meals.
2. Q - Can we pick up meals at a different bus stop than we would on a regular school day?
    A - Yes. Anyone can go to any scheduled bus stop. Meals can also be picked-up at the Mt. Anthony Union Middle School Monday through Friday between 8:00AM and 12:00PM (noon).
3. Q - Does an adult need to be present to receive the meals?
    A - No.
4. Q - Do my children need to be with an adult to pick up meals?
    A - No.
5. Q - What if my child has friends over, or we are watching a group of children, can we get meals for everyone?
    A - Yes.
6. Q - My children attend a private school, can they receive free meals too?
    A - Yes, all children 18 and younger, living in the towns of Bennington (including the Village of North Bennington), Pownal, Shaftsbury and Woodford, can receive free meals.
7. Q - Are adult meals being offered?
    A - No. At this time, the meal program is offered to children only. Please check the website for alternative solutions.
8. Q - Can I pick up meals for my neighbor’s children?
    A - Yes.
9. Q - My child is older than 18 and is a currently enrolled high school student, can my child receive free meals?
    A - Yes, persons older than 18 who are determined by a State educational agency or a local public educational agency of a State to be mentally or physically disabled and who participates in a public or nonprofit private school program established for individuals with disabilities may be served.
10. Q - If my child usually walks to school can I go to any bus stop?
      A - Yes. Anyone can go to any scheduled bus stop.
