School Response to Interactions with ICE

Given recent events in Minneapolis, we acknowledge the concerns regarding Immigration and Customs Enforcement in communities across the country. While there has been no reported interactions within ICE locally, we have reviewed the SVSU Policy on Access Control and Visitor Management (#2401). As part of our mission to keep our students and staff safe, we have provided a clear process for our school administrators and staff to follow if they are approached by federal or state officials requesting access to our buildings. Our purpose for these steps is to protect our school community and individual rights while responding in a professional, non-confrontational manner.
