The School District Redistricting Taskforce was created to recommend new school district boundaries and configurations to the General Assembly. The original task of the group was to develop and present re-drawn maps to the Legislature. At the November 10 meeting, however, the taskforce pivoted to a new proposal that focused on incentivized and voluntary regional mergers. This new plan prioritizes sharing educational resources, including technical education centers.

For more information on the current proposal from The School District Redistricting Taskforce, please read the Two-Page Summary and the related article from VT Digger

Below you will find the three most current maps discussed in the task force's public meetings. These maps are listed in no particular order.

  1. Modified Career Technical Education (CTE) Districts. This map is based on 13 modified CTE regions, but provides no clear governance structure (school districts, supervisory unions, etc.).
  2. Regional Cooperative Education Services Model (Presentation and Write Up). This proposal centers around five Regional Cooperative Education Services (BOCES). This proposal is not considered a complete map, and does not suggest five school districts.
  3. Regional Comprehensive High Schools.  This is the newest proposal of the three listed here. It focuses on access to regional comprehensive high schools, meaning high schools that are directly connected to technical education centers.
